Farmers living around Ruma National Park in Homa Bay County have decried losses caused by leopards which attack their livestock. This came after one of the farmers lost a ram and a freshian calf following an attack by a leopard at Sidede village in Ndhiwa constituency. Vitalis Obudho, a farmer, said the leopard raided his home Monday night and killed the livestock. He called on the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to intervene to avoid loss of property. Central Kanyamwa location Chief George Ogonda Otieno confirmed the incidents and decried prevalent case of livestock attack by leopards in the area.The chief said the locals were living in fear due to the invasions.

He called on KWS to intervene and restrain the wild animals.
