After top NCPB officials were last week sent on compulsory leave, Tiren a lengthy message on his official Facebook page that has elicited mixed reactions amongst his followers.
"The ministry of Agriculture through PS Richard Lesiyampe has confirmed that eight "traders" have been paid a total of Ksh 1.9b for the last three months alone, money the ministry says would have paid close to 4000 farmers," said Tiren in part of the post.
Here are some of the reactions from Kenyans who commented on the post;
"Thumbs up Mheshimiwa the struggle continues, we are fully behind you these traders must go to jail...," Judith Korir said.
"Big up Mheshimiwa. You have been vindicated. Now mulika New KCC where dairy farmers are not paid on time just like Cereals. I salute you, Sir," Lazarus Rutto commented.
"Thanks so much, Hon. Tiren for standing with us farmers. We have and are suffering whereas our leaders are silent. You are the only leader from our community who has been on the front line fighting for farmers," Mike Mondet noted.
"Great job Hon. Tiren! Now waiting for the eight "traders" (read cartels) to be named, nabbed and prosecuted if we don't want a repetition of the same vice going forward,"Martin Cheruiyot said.
The legislator further challenged the President to end the corruption.
"As we play our role of oversight, the buck stops at the office of the President to end this menace that is corruption," Tiren said.
