Kisii County farmers have been challenged to embrace technology and above all use social media to market their products.
Addressing a number of farmers drawn from Kisii county at Kisii county hall on Thursday, Africa Agriculture program officer Denis Gitau called upon the farmer to ensure that they understand the internet well and how they can utilise it to make more money.
“In the current times online is the way to do business and social media is key for farmers who want to sell their products beyond their county,” he added.
He also called upon the farmers to ensure that they are aware of commercial websites that can easily help them sell their products.
“We want to see farmers from this region get their agricultural products consumed all over the world and that can be achieved if they understand the online world,” he added.
He challenged youths to ensure that they educate the community on how to take advantage of the internet and ensure that they get a good income through it.
