Addressing groups of farmers in Makairo early Tuesday, area Agricultural officer Julius Nyandoro said technology will help the farmers in the area utilise the small portions of land that they have to make more money by producing more.

“Unlike the old trends the farmers in the area are using, new technology will improve their income and see them become economically stable through their products,” he added.

However, the officer added that a good number people living in the county were not ready to invest in farming, adding that most of them fear taking the risk of switching from one economic activity to another.

The officer added that they are looking into holding an awareness conference to ensure that farmers get to know the importance of technology and how they can use it to reap big from the small land that is available.

“If the farmers fully focus on using the latest technology, then am sure no farmer will remain poor in the days to come,” he added.
