Land owners and farmers in Kangundo Sub-County have been urged to start preparing their farms for the planting season following the rain season.
Speaking during a Sunday Service at Sengani Africa Inland Church (AIC), Tala area MCA, Alex Kamitu, urged farmers not to hesitate to prepare their farms as there is possibility of having early rains.
"Farmers should start preparing their land early enough so that they can take advantage of the early rain,” said Kamitu.
He, however, urged farmers to liaise with the ministry of Agriculture in the County for advice on the farming activities.
Kamitu further pleaded with the farmers to take care of the previous harvest to avoid a drought situation.
“As we prepare for the next planting season, those of us who harvested last season should not rush to the market to sell their food before knowing the outcome of the forthcoming situation. In a case that one is sure of the seasons harvest success it is wise to wait for the market prices to elevate so as to make better profit,” notes Kamitu.
