Farmers in Nakuru County have been urged to embrace coffee farming since some parts of the area have good soil suitable for the crop.

Speaking in Nakuru yesterday afternoon during a meeting held in a Nakuru hotel, Nguzo Africa Director Elizabeth Ogechi told farmers that his organisation targets to provide over 300,000 seedlings to farmers in the next three years to ensure that they have enough supplies with a nursery already in Olulai producing 100,000annualy.

"We already have some areas within this county where farmers have planted coffee in past reaping maximum benefits from the crop which is also friendly to environment al conservation," said Ogech.

The county coffee research foundation manager, Elizabeth Mains said they ate targeting 500 farmers in the next three years to plant Ruiru and Mbatian coffee varieties which are disease resistance.
