The day that has been awaited for in years is finally here. Football fans have been making preparations to ensure that they are well equipped for the entire month. Buying jerseys that represent the participating countries is definitely among the preparations.

From late last month to June, boutiques have been flocked by fans who want to show their love for their particular favourite participating country through buying jerseys.

The price has been spiked due to demands thus fattening the pockets of businessmen.

A jersey representing a certain country now ranges from Sh1500-3000 depending on the place you buy it and how popular the team is. Custom made jerseys that come with a fan's name are way more expensive.

Despite the high prices per jersey, most stores across the country have run out of products to sell as the demand is higher than the supply.

'During this time, jerseys quickly sell out and despite the current financial hardships being experienced in the country, the sales turn out is still amazing. Some people have even totally sold out their entire stocks,' said one local boutique owner in Mombasa.
