The Uasin Gishu County government on Wednesday declared vacant 10 positions of County Executive Committee Members (CeCs) and 16 Chief Officers.

In the advertisement published in the local dailies, those interested in the CeC positions are required to address their applications to the office of the governor while those applying for the chief officer posts were directed to address their applications to the Secretary County Public Service Board.

"Pursuant to the provisions of the County Government Act no. 17 of 2012 sections 33, 36, 44 and 45, the office of the governor wishes to consider applications from highly qualified, results-oriented and self motivated Kenyan for appointment in the following positions..."reads part of the advertisement.

The advertisement of the positions leaves current officers in limbo and it remains to be seen whether they will be retained or not.

Governor Jackson Mandago had already indicated that there would be changes in his top officials.

"Don't expect me to replace everyone; but also don't expect me to retain everybody," Mandago told the press few days after he was reelected for a second term in office.
