Police in Kiambu County are holding a father who allegedly beat up his son seriously injuring him for failing to prepare him dinner. The man from Kagui trading centre is being held at Gakoe Police Station. He allegedly assaulted his son leaving him with a broken arm and other body injuries on Friday at 10 pm. According to the area chief, Mr Simon Muita, the man has been living with two children after separating with his wife who left with another two children. “His wife left home a month ago and carried two children with her leaving the others with her husband,” Muita said. The man is said to have arrived home drunk at around 10pm and found the son had not prepared supper. He started beating him. The minor sought refuge at a neighbour’s house prompting him to inform police. “This is not the first time this man is assaulting his children. Whenever he gets drunk, his attitude towards everything changes. I pray that he will be taught a lesson,” said Anthony Gakuo, a neighbour. He will be charged with assaulting the child on Monday.
