Confirming the incident, Tirigoi location Chief Simon Kitur said that the father and the son were not in good terms and that the former has been alleging he did not sire the boy.

"The father has been against the son saying that she did not sire him. What happened is really unfortunate," said the chief.

Following the incident, angry residents wanted to lynch the man but he was  rescued by Nyumba Kumi Initiative members.

The man was arrested and he is being held at the Kiptagich Police Station before he is arraigned in court.

The body of the son has been taken to Olenguruone mortuary.
