A 45-year-old man, a father of seven from Kalama area in Yatta sub-county in Machakos county commited suicide on Tuesday night by hanging himself.

Confirming the incident Ikombe location chief Onesmus Nzile said that the reason behind the man commiting suicide has not been established. 

According to his wife, her husband failed to come home only for him to be found hanging from a tree in his land. 

Chief Nzile also said that police have launched investigations into the matter.

The body of the deceased was taken to Matuu median hospital mortuary.
