Father of the lost twin at the Kenyatta National Hospital Job Nyatiti Ouko has revealed the sequence of events that eventually led to the loss of his child.
Speaking to Citizen Tv on Tuesday, Ouko revealed that he started facing difficulties at KNH on Sunday morning at 2am when he had taken the wife at the hospital for medical help.
According to Ouko, he failed to see a doctor until Monday at 10am after the doctor he met at the hospital earlier had reiterated to him that he can only get help after the office is cleaned.
In the wee hours of Sunday morning, Ouko talked to a team leader who also failed to reach the doctor as he (doctor) was not responding to phone calls.
At 6am, Ouko went back to the team leader who expressed his remorse for the way he (Ouko) felt and asked him to go lodge a complaint with all his documents. On reaching room 108 at KNH, Ouko was asked to relay his complaints orally but he insisted on doing it through the complaints book.
"The team leader told me he felt how I feel and he asked me to go to room 108 with all the documents and give out my complaints. At the room, I was asked to give my complaints orally but I asked for the complaints book where I could write down the complaints," reiterated Ouko.
The doctor finally appeared at 6.30am but Ouko's wife could only get admitted at the ward at 10am where a nurse advised that the twins could not be allowed in the ward with their parents. Ouko hence decided to leave the twins behind to two women also at KNH with sick kins and was only alerted moments later that one of the women had gone missing with my child.
"The doctor came at 6.30am but my wife was admitted in the ward at 10am. A nurse advised that I leave the twins behind as they could not be allowed at the ward in the first floor and so I left them with two women who I could tell also had patients at the hospital. It is the second woman who notified me of the first lady who had disappeared with my son," added Ouko.
The twin has however been found in Kawangware and a woman arrested in connection with the whole saga.
