Kenyans joined the rest of the world in celebrating Father's Day, Sunday June 18.Messages of 'Happy Father's Day' filled social media, with some sharing photos of their father's, brothers and husbands, thanking and wishing them all the best.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga was not exempted. He accompanied his son, Raila Junior to shop for his grandson, at a Westlands shopping mall, where he left a message to all fathers.

Raila also took issue with the government, over the rising cost of the economy, saying Kenyans are now unable to cope.

Below is Raila's message.

"Today when I accompanied my son Raila Junior to shop for my grandson, I thought deeply about how the collapse of our economy has frustrated the efforts of many fathers who cannot afford to put food on the table because of cost and also unavailability. Inability to provide for one's children hurts and scars a man's dignity.

On this Father's Day my prayer is that Kenyan fathers must not fall into despair. We as a people must remain strong and focus on remaking our motherland. We can. And we shall. God bless Kenya."
