Residents in Masimba Sub-County, Kisii County are up in arms over insecurity issues, after suspected robbers attacked and killed two men.
The locals say their problems have been compounded by lack of enough lighting in the area, with streetlights that were installed by the county faulty.
They say insecurity cases shot up immediately after the streetlights went off, and are now calling for immediate action by the county government in conjunction with the national government.
They have also appealed to the local leaders to come to their rescue, and help them restore their lives that have been heavily affected.
The two men are said to have been shot at around 8 pm, with the robbers disappearing into the cover of the night.
Other cases of insecurity have also been reported, with the locals now forced to close their business early.
It has become a worry for anyone traveling late at night or early in the morning, as this is the time the criminals waylay and attack them.
