Coast-based football club Modern Coast Rangers has explained the reason for the change of home matches venue for the FKF National super League from KPA Mbaraki Sports ground to Bomu complex.Club secretary Ferdinand Ogot explained that easy access to match venue, ease of hiring and standard pitch are the major factors that the club considered to end up moving home matches to Bomu complex. "Our fan base is in Changamwe and it is easier for our fans to access Bomu ground that to travel to KPA Mbaraki Sports Club. These coupled with cheaper rates for hiring the pitch and a high standard pitch with proper drainage system have forced us to reschedule our home matches to Bomu," he explained.Ogot also explained that he consulted Chief Executive Officer, Department of Youth, Gender and Sports Babu Rajab who confirmed that the Bomu complex is appropriate for holding the FKF National Super League and other important matches. The Bomu Complex is one of the projects funded by the Mombasa County government with the aim developing sports infrastructure at the coast. Other venues constructed under the project include the ultra-modern 3, 000 seater Uwanja Wa Mbuzi stadium in Kongowea, Kisauni Mlaleo and Majengo.
