Maseno residents are worried of a cholera outbreak after a water shortage hit the area for the second week running.
The residents now depend on one source of water, a borehole in Posta.
Hoteliers and some locals have opted for water from nearby rivers increasing the risk of a cholera outbreak.
“Business has to go on, I am forced to source for water from nearby rivers.” said John Ogiek who runs a hotel.
The water vendor says there are no hopes of water being pumped anytime soon.
“I have spoken with the relevant authorities who have slugged on handling the issue. I am worried that the situation may persist.” said Joshua Canada.
“We are worried we do not have clean water to use in our homes. We hope the situation will be handled soon," said Mercy Kioli a student.
