The residents spoke as a water shortage hit Maseno market for the second week.

A visit by this writer to the market revealed that the residents were drawing water in water holes.

They said the water in the water holes was unsafe for use and they risked being affected by water borne diseases.

Jane Opande who had come to fetch water from the spring said the water problem had been felt for long.

“I have been buying water from vendors, it has now become too expensive for me,” she said.

Mike Oloo, another resident called on the county government to come to their rescue.

It was the second time the residents complained of lack of water in less than a month.

They said most of them buy water expensively from water vendors.
