Residents of Muguga location in Kabete sub-county are living in fear due to insecurity after the body of a middle-aged man was discovered this morning dumped near the railway line.
The mutilated body with signs of deep cuts was discovered disposed in near the railway line by a farmer who was in his normal activities.
“I was gathering feeds for my cows when I saw the body dumped near my farm. It had deep cuts resembling those of a machete. I alerted the neighbours who did not identify the body as that of a local,” said Julius Gachanja.
Area community policing chairman Henry Kinyua confirmed the incident, saying that the deceased might have been killed somewhere else and dumped there.
“We have seen the trail of blood along the railway line and his phone was still where he was lying. We are afraid that the act might have been committed somewhere else and the body dumped here to hide evidence,” he said.
Residents are now appealing for heightened security around the area and neighbouring locations to fight the escalating cases of crime.
“We are appealing to the law enforcers to conduct regular patrols to curb crime cases. The region from Thamanda to Eka Tano, all the way to Kanyeki has been registering crime cases almost every day," said Eunice Waithira, a resident.
The body was taken to the mortuary as investigations are on going to identify it and the killers.
