Hospital Ward MCA Mwangi Wamwangi has said that construction of feeder roads in Runda and Biafra estates is on high gear.
This is in a move aimed at easing movement in and outside of the estates.
Speaking at his ward office in Thika Town on Thursday, Wamwangi indicated that the works have been going on in the last two months and are expected to be complete by the end of this month.
"By the end of October, if the El~Nino rains do not distract the contractors, the roads should be complete," said Wamwangi.
He added: "It is the aim of the county government to ease transportation of people and goods in and out of our estates. Most of the residents who live here work in town and with roads being impassable, it becomes hard for them to move appropriately," said Wamwangi.
The MCA also said that the county government has been unblocking the drainage systems along the major roads in the ward ahead of El~Nino rains.
He appealed to those living in the interior settlements where the county government may not be able to reach to do it by themselves for their own safety.
