Speaking to a Hivisasa writer on Tuesday, Jane noted that she personally operates a bodaboda after class to get extra cash.

"I'm a bodaboda rider here and around other parts of Kesses. This is my way of earning a living other than focusing on my course here at Moi University," she said.

Jane divulged that she started the business in 2017 after seen the potential in the area.

"I started the business last year. What motivated me was the business opportunities available within and outside Moi University premises," she said.

She confessed that even though the business has been doing well, she has faced a lot of challenges.

"Because this is a male dominated business, it has not been easy for me, a number of my friends deserted me saying I was too much on hustling life," she said.

Her other main challenge is balancing between her studies and the side hustle.

"Since the main thing that brought me here is studying, combining the two is tricky. I read the whole night and immediately after classes I working on my business," Jane narrated.

The student noted that the business was booming, adding that her daily earning ranges from Sh1,000 to Sh1,500.

"On good days I make up to Sh1,500 a day, but most of the time I earn Sh1,000 a day after spending Sh300 on fuel," Jane said.

"I have a lot of customers. Since I'm the only lady in the business, many customers look for me to sample my ride," she added.
