A female preacher was charged at a Nairobi court for allegedly urinating behind a chief’s office.
50-year-old Miriam Wangechi was arrested next to Kamukunji Chief’s office on May 16 and according to police records, the preacher ‘created disturbance in a way likely to cause breach of peace’ when she started insulting the area Chief Anthony Mwangi.
Mr Mwangi had wanted to know why she urinated behind his office.
Police add that Wangechi went abusive and at some poing claimed the ‘stupid’ chief had wanted to sleep with her.
The chief sent one of his elders to summon the preacher after he received reports that she was urinating behind a water tank that was located next to his office.
But the irritated Wangechi is said to have told the elder that these summons were not about the act but were attempts by the chief to sleep with her.
When she declined to accompany the elder to the chief’s office, she was arrested.
She however denied the claims in court.
