A section of male students in Maseno University have put their female colleagues at the institution on notice over the way they dress while they visit the library.
The students led by Elvis Odende pinned printed notices around the university on Tuesday warning female students not to dress half-naked while attending library sessions.
In the notice, the students appealed to their female colleagues to dress well to avoid "disturbing and distracting male students from concentrating on their academic work."
Elvis said that he and his colleagues had sacrificed to undergo the costs of printing and laminating the notices to ensure the message got to all students.
“We have sacrificed our time and money to get to this. We want them to know. Please dress well while you visit the library. Male students want to graduate as well,” said Elvis.
Several other students also urged their female counterparts to consider dressing decently to keep male students focused while in the library.
“Some girls sit in those libraries with their thighs out. Who will keep his mind on books in such moments,” Franklin Odhiambo posed.
