National Council for Population and Development (NCPD) North Rift regional coordinator Moses Ouma has cried foul of couples not going for family planning. He said the current state was worrying."It is sad that only 56 percent of couples show up for family planning. At this time and age we should be talking of over 70 percent and not the current number," he said in Eldoret town, Tuesday."This will lead to families getting children they cannot cater for leading to economic difficulties. Increase access to reproductive health services and use of contraceptives leads to a decrease in maternal mortality," he added. He, however, urged county and national governments to carry out sensitization on the importance of family planning for more people to adopt it. "The two governments should allocate more funds to sponsor sensitization of family planning programs," noted Ouma.
