The ten families had to spend Monday night in the cold after the fire that started at 8pm destroying all their properties.

Confirming the incident at the scene last night Mlolongo area Chief, David Kilonzo, said that the fire spread very fast due to the material used to build the structures.

“The reason why the fire has spread very fast is because of the materials which has been used to construct the houses,” said Kilonzo adding that houses were constructed by iron sheets and wood.

Patricia Mwinzi, a victim says that she is happy that she and her family managed to escape without being hurt. For now Mwinzi is asking for help from well wishers.

“I thank God for protecting our lives but I am urging the county government and our leaders to come to our aid because most of us did not manage to salvage our properties,” said Mwinzi a mother of two.

Police officers from Mlolongo police station have launched an investigation to establish the cause of the fire. No one was injured during the incidence.
