Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards and Sofapaka FC could find themselves in hot soup should they be found guilty of breaching laws governing the use of money made from players’ transfers.
According local tabloid Fever-pitch, FIFA Ethics Committee has already launched investigations against the trio for allegations of mismanagement of money received from selling players.
It’s reported that the three clubs do not deposit such moneys to their respective bank accounts but rather to individual’s savings meaning the clubs do not benefit from the business of selling of players.
FIFA officials are expected in the country this weekend to carry out the findings with the club’s officials already informed of the development and instructed to produce documents showing their financial status.
This comes as the federation FKF has asked the three clubs to submit their bank account statements for the past two years, and warned dire consequences are in the offing should there unfold any fishiness.
