The Amani National Congress (ANC) party has broken its silence on the continued detention of controversial lawyer and socio-political commentator Miguna Miguna at JKIA.
Lugari MP Ayub Savula, speaking after a meeting with other party members, said that ANC had decided to condemn the mistreatment of Mr. Miguna, calling it a violation of the lawyer's rights.
''We have decided in our meeting to also stand with Miguna for what happened to him at the airport and we are condemning what happened to journalists were beaten. And at the same time, Miguna was manhandled, detained in an abortive mission to deport him to Dubai. We say Miguna is Kenyan citizen by birth,'' Hon. Ayub Savula.
The party called on the Kenyan government to respect court orders, warning that defiance of court orders would take the country down the drain.
Miguna is being held at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Immigration authorities.
