Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga stood shoulder to shoulder with his Machakos counterpart yesterday to condemn the hateful song, saying that the Kamba-Kikuyu relations would not be allowed to deteriorate as a result of the song.

''There has to be unity amongst ourselves... There should be no one who should be allowed to sow the seeds of disunity amongst ourselves because we are one people. My coming here is to affirm that togetherness. What happened in Kitui is unfortunate and we should respond with calm and not respond with the songs that we have seen,'' the governor of Nyeri said in vernacular.

On his part, Kiambu senator Wamatangi condemned Governor Ngilu for her careless actions and called out the NCIC for not acting decisively enough.

A section of Kenyans have called for the arrest and prosecution of the two artists who composed the song.
