Until his demise, he was, the secretary general of Meru university students' union.

He was reportedly taking part in a demonstration when he was shot in the head and died instantly.

It was reported that the demonstrations were meant to decry the high school fees the students pay as well as the poor conditions at the institution.

This is one among other extrajudicial killings resulting from a demonstration that has been witnessed in the since the electioneering period.

The police force in the country has been in the spotlight on how they normally handle demonstrators during demonstrations.

Live instead of rubber bullets have been used in most cases to handle demonstrators resulting in loss of lives.

According to local media, more than 33 people have lost their lives during demonstrations organised by the opposition last year to protest on what they termed as electoral injustices.

This is yet another loss of life involving the death of a university student leader as a result of a demonstration.

However, with investigations by IPOA on course, the family of the deceased now has hope that justice will be served.
