The long wait by NASA supporters for a flagbearer who will face President Uhuru Kenyatta may soon be a thing of the past, after the four principals agreed to choose the candidate on consensus.

The new development came in after claims that the National Coordinating Committee and the Technical Committee talks to pick a flagbearer collapsed.

At some point, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior even advised the four Principals Raila Odinga (ODM), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), and Moses Wetangula (Ford-Kenya) to lock themselves in a room and pick one of them to fly the NASA flag.

The advice by the son of Makueni must have worked magic because sources privy to the four principals have revealed that they have scheduled a close door meeting to agree on who will carry the flag.

The four are set to discuss the recommendations of the two committees then announce the NASA presidential candidate as soon as possible.

"We are going to a retreat to agree among ourselves who will be the presidential candidate and running mate," Kalonzo told the Standard.

ANC leader Mudavadi also said the process will be very balanced to ensure any of the four can be given the NASA flag.
