Residents of Ngewa Ward in Kiambu County will have a reason to smile, after the County Governor William Kabogo disbursed the long awaited bursary funds which were allegedly held by the county government.
The fund, which was more than Sh700,000 had raised concerns and tension in the ward, with the residents threatening to go take to the streets if the status quo would remain.
Led by Ngewa MCA Karugo wa Thang’wa, who was speaking on Monday at his ward in Kwamaiko region, they said that they were pleased by the governor’s decision to issue the bursary cheque, and the people of Ngewa were all in gratitude.
He said that the students, who were beneficiaries, can now go to school, which had been affected by the olding of the cheque by the county government.
“Finally my people will now attend to school and the delay which was set in place is finally over and I promise to work with you to the very ends,” said the MCA
Karugo said that he is ready to protect the people of Ngewa who elected him to office, and would stop at nothing to make sure they are served fairly according to their rights.
The MCA said that now they are satisfied and will now embark on development project as they await the Biashara fund cheque, which is supposed to be issued in the course of the month.
The TNA legislator urged the area residents to remain calm and embrace education, which is the key to life.
The bursary was issued by Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo on Monday afternoon at Ngewa ward.
