ODM has declared Kisumu Senator Anyang' Nyong'o the winner of the just-concluded party Kisumu governor polls.

While making the Saturday ruling, ODM Election board chairperson Judith Pareno said Nyong'o garnered 164,553 votes against incumbent Jack Ranguma who managed 98,573 votes.

Earlier, each of them had been declared winner after the Kisumu primaries held on Tuesday.

The county returning officer Tom Okong’o had declared Nyong'o the winner in an announcement that was made at Thurdibuoro Secondary School in Nyakach constituency with164,110 votes against Ranguma who got 91,480.

But shortly afterwards at Aga Khan Hall in Kisumu town, deputy returning officer Richard Kiyondi declared Ranguma the winner after garnering 118, 934 votes against Nyong’o’s 32,028.

Both were then given provisional certificates.
