Karai MCA Njenga Magua has tabled a motion to send Kiambu County’s finance executive home for alleged abuse of office and misconduct.
While tabling the motion, Magua said that the performance of Mary Nguli, the finance CeC, has been unsatisfactory for a long time.
“The finance executive failed to implement the county budget that was approved by the county assembly. She also violated the county procurement procedures and processes,” said Njenga Magua.
Magua added that Nguli had failed to pay the contractors during the previous financial year and that she also delayed paying the casual workers for the months they worked.
“She paid salaries to the National Youth Service (NYS) personnel without getting consent from the assembly. She also failed to create a county development fund,” added Magua.
The motion said that she also failed to repair motorbikes, and county vehicles in the required time.
Last year, Nguli faced impeachment after a removal motion was tabled by Kiambu Town MCA James Njenga. She had allegedly defied the budget committee summons.
The motion failed because the assembly members failed to approve it.
