The riders, led by Joshua Kebati threatened to demonstrate if the County revenue collecting officers will not stop demanding for the high fines.

"Anytime a rider is found at a wrong parking, the county officers with the help of county askaris demand a fine of Sh1,000. We want the fine be reduced to at least Sh200," he said.

Peter Nyamwesi, another rider urged the officers to issue receipts whenever they are paid the fines.

"Most of those who have been fined for wrong parking are never issued with receipts. From now onwards they should give us the receipt," he said.

"Any officer without a receipt will be considered as a thief," he added.

Nyamwesi said that boda boda officials have kept quiet despite the numerous complains raised by riders.

"Our officials who should be assisting us are also silent. We shall also take action against them," he said.

The riders were speaking at Equity boda boda stage on Wednesday evening.
