Several houses in Elburgon were on Friday night gutted down after fire broke out.

The fire broke out around midnight and razed down houses at Mastima area.

The houses are owned by the family of a popular businessman in the town.

No injuries were reported but affected families were unable to rescue anything.

It is not clear what caused the inferno.
