According to one of the students, the school principal denied the students a chance to attend a sports activity in a neighbouring county, something that might have forced the students to burn down the dormitory.

“I think seven form four students who had sneaked out of school to attend a sporting activity in Nyamusi Girls after the principal denied us the chance of attending might be behind the burning down of the dormitory after having received a thorough beating from the principal on return from the sports event,” said the Student.

According to the school principal; Richard Omoro, property whose value cannot be estimated was destroyed in the fire tragedy.

“Property of millions of shillings was destroyed in the fire and as the school administration in conjunction with the police we have commenced investigations to bring the culprits to book," said the principal.

The school administration was forced to close down the school indefinitely and students were sent packing till a later date.
