More than 50 buildings and properties of unknown value were on Wednesday morning reduced to ashes by fire in Keringet Town.
Confirming the incident, Keringet assistant county commissioner Mr. Koumo, said the cause of the fire that began around 4 am, is yet to be established.
"I thank residents for their quick response. Few items were salvaged, but more thankfully, no injuries were reported," Mr. Koumo said.
Residents helped douse the fire using buckets of water.
The fire broke out, just a year after another one razed down shops in the same town in late 2016 and the locals are now calling upon the county government of Nakuru to establish a fire-station in the town to help in curbing future fires.
