Four Opposition Mps have urged Education CS Fred Matiang’i to resign over increased cases of arson within schools.
The Mps, led by Ugunja MP Wandayi Opiyo, accused Matiang’i of introducing ‘stiff policies’ to schools hence the cases.
Addressing the media on Wednesday afternoon, Mps Wandayi, Timothy Bosire, Florence Mutua and Geofrey Odanga said President Uhuru Kenyatta should crack the whip on Matiang’i.
"The matters are grave. They cannot be left in the hands of one individual by the name Matiang'i," said Wandayi.
Mutua said the President should end his silence of the current crisis facing schools.
“The President is silent, what is he communication to Kenyans. Why the silence?” the Busia woman representative said.
“Some needs to resign because he is somewhere not doing his job,” she added .
