A kitchen belonging to St Georges Girls Secondary School in Nairobi was razed down Saturday evening.
Efforts by firefighters from the Nairobi City County helped to put out the 9pm fire and stop its spread to other parts of the school.
According to a teacher at the school, no casualties were reported from the incident.
"All the girls are fine. We are doing a head count to confirm that all students are safe," said Domitillah Ngoko, a teacher, as quoted by the Star.
National Disaster Management Unit's public relations officer Pius Maasai said no casualties were reported.
"It is unfortunate that fire incident has been reported at St. George's Girls High School, kitchen. So far no injuries have been reported and the cause of fire still remains unknown," he said.
This incident came just a week after another inferno killed nine students at Moi Girls Nairobi.
