Property worth thousands of shillings was destroyed by a late evening fire at PCEA Kambala secondary school in Molo sub-county Wednesday evening.
The inferno, whose cause is yet to be established razed down two dormitories which were hosting more than 200 students but no causality was reported.
Speaking after visiting the school on Wednesday, area MP Jacob Macharia said investigations into the matter will be done.
"All girls are safe and my office in conjunction with the sub-county security organs are carrying out investigations to ascertain the probable cause of the fire," he said.
"I urge parents, the neighboring community and other stakeholders to remain calm as we get to the bottom of this issue.
The institution was temporarily closed for two weeks to allow investigations into the matter.
