Ndeiya Member of County Assembly (MCA) wants the Kiambu county government to set up a fire station in the area.
Speaking to the press at Ndeiya on Monday, area ward representative Nelson Munga said the fire station will help during fire instances.
The MCA observed that the area has no fire station and that cases of fire outbreaks continue to consume property and lives of residents.
“We want to appeal to both the county and the national government to set aside funds and establish a fire station for us.
The MCA also asked the county government to sensitize the public on disaster management.
He stated that many locals do not have skills on how to conduct themselves in cases of emergencies or disasters like fire outbreaks.
On the same note, the MCA also wants the county government to urgently repair road networks.
He indicated that most roads in the ward are in deplorable condition and are rendered impassable during rainy season.
“We want our roads to be repaired and enjoy same as other Kiambu people,” he said.
Munga noted that leaders must work and stop wrangles which he said that will only continue the chain of poverty for the common Kenyans while benefit the politicians.
