Kitutu Central ward MCA Duke Nyarango addressing the victims assured the county will compensate the fire victims to enable them start their businesses afresh.

“It is sad that property worth millions of shillings has been destroyed but I want to assure all the affected traders that the county government led by governor James Ongwae will rebuild the shops and give out some funds for the traders to start their businesses afresh,” said Nyarango.

The ward representative urged politicians who lost during August 8, 2017, polls not to politicize fire incidents whenever they occur.

“Some politicians may now take advantage of the fire to criticize the county government. This is not the time for blame game but to help the affected people rebuild the shops and start business afresh because they depend on the businesses for a living,” he noted.
