The Webuye Pan Paper Mills will soon be revived after its closure for seven years.
The firm is being revived by Tarlochan Ltd, an Indian-owned subsidiary of the Rai Group of Companies.
Tarlochan Ltd will pump in Sh6 billion to bring back the factory to life after being given a go ahead by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The company bought the miller at Sh900 million from the receiver manager and lenders.
During the official handing-over ceremony held in Webuye, Rai Group chairman Jaswant Rai said the factory will be up and running after a four-month rehabilitation period.
The investor said total overhaul of the obsolete machines, including boilers, will be done as reported by the standard newspaper.
Mr Rai also promised the resident of Webuye and Bungoma County at large that the miller will help the county be an economic giant.
He assured former employees of getting back their jobs.
