The first edition of the King and Queen Lakeside Pageant contest was held in Kisumu town on Friday.
The event that took place at Tuffoam Mall saw 22 male and female models participate in the fast growing beauty contest.
Winners in both categories won Sh25,000 each and a night at the Imperial Express Hotel.
Anthony Issambi from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University and Sharon Ominde of Moi University were crowned the King and Queen respectively.
Eugine Ogello and Godfrey Harun emerged first and second runners up in male category with Kelly Onjuro and Daisy Akinyi in female category.
The colourful and dazzling event was attended by more than 400 people and presided over by Kisumu Central constituency aspirant Felix Pala.
The Lakeside Pageant is founded by Nigerian David Onyeka, Ivy Binna and Derek Lumumba (super model and trainer) from Kenya.
They said the event is aimed at promoting culture, fashion and nurturing talents among the youth in the region.
The evening was spiced up by performances by local artiste.
Popular comedian and radio presenter Lawrence Oyange aka Jakamega was the emcee.
Also present was General Manager Eco-Lodge Hotel Martin Khaemba.
A total of 100 Kisumu super mums were also honoured for handwork in businesses as well as bringing up their children. There was also a fashion exhibition.
