First Lady Margret Kenyatta has urged Kenyans to vote for the Jubilee government in order to ensure continued development.
Speaking in Nakuru on Thursday when she met more than 3,000 women leaders under the umbrella of Maendeleo Ya Wanawake from 14 counties of the Rift Valley region, said the jubilee party will complete unfinished projects once re-elected in August.
“The government is committed to completing projects which are underway. I urge all women in Rift Valley and the entire country to vote for Jubilee,” she said.
On the youth and women agenda, she said the Jubilee government is committed to supporting women, youth, and issues dealing with the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
The First lady was categorical that Jubilee government has made it possible with the free maternity care, funds for the PWDs among other funds in a move aimed at having the government an all-inclusive.
“The government will also expand more funding opportunities to youths, women, and PWDs,” she said.
She also promised that Jubilee government will support the MYW and also help build offices across the country.
On her part, MYW National Chair Rahab Muyu urged women to campaign and vote for Uhuruto’s re-election.
Speaking during the meeting, nominated Senator Zipporah Kittony while promising the first lady enough votes from the region, accused the opposition and said that they have already started ‘tensing’ ahead of the polls.
“Rift Valley is the deciding factor in the political space and we assure you of getting massive votes from the region. The region is already locked with Jubilee votes. We appreciate that the government is walking alongside women, youths and PDWs agenda’s,” she said.
Jubilee gubernatorial nominee Lee Kinyanjui who attended the meeting asked the electorates to vote for the Jubilee which an all-inclusive, unlike the opposition.
Sentiments echoed by Nakuru's Jubilee Senatorial Candidate Susan Kihika who said the youth and women agenda was clearly spelt in the Jubilee manifesto.
