Kenyan First Lady Margaret Kenyatta yesterday awarded the wives of Machakos governor Alfred Mutua and Kiambu Governor William Kabogo and at State House Nairobi.
Philomena Kabogo -Kiambu First Lady and Lilian Ng'ang'a of Machakos were recognised following their efforts in supporting the Beyond Zero campaign in their counties of administration.
This is after it was reported that through the Beyond Zero programme, maternal-related deaths have been reduced in the 2 respective counties with the support of Philomena and Lilian.
The Beyond Zero programme was launched in 2014 by Margaret Kenyatta. The programme was started to eliminate HIV & AIDs infections to children and help women to improve on health.
Since the launch of the programme, 47 mobile clinics have been distributed across the country.
