The First Lady expressed her gratitude by congratulating the management team and contractors for timely completion of the complex, eighteen months after she laid the foundation stone to commence the construction, adding that it was completed within the recommended time-frame.

“This new complex is well deserved by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board. It is also timely in improving the working environment of medical staff and accessibility to the public in your work in regulating the healthcare industry, and setting national standards for the practice of medicine,” said Mrs. Kenyatta.

While acknowledging the huge responsibility of the boards mandate to carry out its core function educating and training, licensing, monitoring and evaluating roles, the First lady challenged the body that maintenance of quality standards be the core values and ethics that drive the medical and dental schools, and teaching hospitals in Kenya.

“Kenyans must feel confident in the healthcare services offered to them, one that prioritises their safety and dignity, and reflects and respects their constitutional rights,” she said.

She was received by the CEO of KMPDB, Daniel Yumbya, the chairman of KMPDB, George Magoha and other board members.
