Besides initiating and successfully leading the Kajiado Central Constituency Milk Project that has touched 4,000 households, Mrs Nkaissery has played another pivotal role in the leadership of the Ushanga Kenya Initiative that has invested in the transformation of women pastoralists from the seven counties of Kajiado, Narok, Samburu, Baringo, West Pokot, Turkana and Laikipia.

The initiative, started under the Jubilee Government, helps the women enhance their economic benefit of their unique bead products through training, direct connection and access to the global marketing and networks-thus avoiding exploitation from middlemen and cartels.

Besides local women leaders, the First Lady was accompanied to Kajiado by the spouses of Cabinet Secretaries Eugene Wamalwa (Water and Irrigation) and James Macharia (Transport and Infrastructure)
