First Lady Margaret Kenyatta and Nairobi governor Mike Sonko yesterday (Friday) hosted children from different orphanages for a Christmas lunch at City Hall.

The kids had the opportunity to mingle and interact with the leaders together with other county officials.

Among notable personalities present were CECs Charles Kerich (ICT), Veska Kangogo (Finance), Hitan Majevdia (Health) and county secretary Leboo Ole Moritant.

While donating her gift of Sh2 million, the first lady asked managers of children's homes to help in identifying the kids' talents at an early stage.

"Let us nurture talents and protect our children since they are our future leaders," she said.

On his part, Governor Sonko asked Nairobians to use the holiday season to reaffirm their support and love for each other.

"Let us, as family members, neighbors, regardless of our colour, faith, political affiliation, and ethnicity, remember that we are one. We are a family," Sonko said.
