[Photo: @KTNKenya]The 2017 presidential candidates debate has kicked off.This is after only three candidates, arrived at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Nairobi, for the presidential debate at the set 5 pm.Ekuru Aukot of the Thirdway Alliance, and Independent Candidates Michael Wainaina and Japhet Kavinga arrived for the first session of the highly anticipated debate.Two more, Cyrus Jirongo and Joe Nyagah failed to show up, Monday, for the first session, as planned.The first session was supposed to incorporate six candidates, but Mohammad Abduba Dida of the Alliance for Real Change, opted out.Dida who is a second time presidential aspirant, cited alleged bias and inequality among the candidates, by organisers, Debates Media Ltd.Dida wanted all the eight candidates to be on the same stage, including Raila Odinga of NASA and Uhuru Kenyatta of Jubilee, after the debates Steering Committee, categorised them, in a different session, scheduled to start 8 pm.Though not yet official, latest reports indicate that Raila and Uhuru are likely to participate in the event, but Raila said he would only attendbe, if Uhuru does.
