Fishermen around Lake Victoria are bemoaning the plunge in the number of fish.According to them, the stock of fish has significantly gone down.Edward Oremo, the chairman of the Homa Bay County Beach Management Networks, speaking to the media today blamed the plunge on overfishing.''Mosquito nets are being used to catch fish. This is endangering the fish population as eggs are also being scooped,'' Mr. Oremo said.
Oremo urged beach chairmen to work against illegal fishing activities.
